Once upon a time, on a particularly stormy winter’s night, the dusty attic of a seemingly ordinary cottage was destined to be the scene of a display of pure magic.
When a bolt of lightening swiftly made its way down through the bare and crooked branches of ancient trees, and struck down on the frozen ground near the cottage, charging up the air with forces long lost to this world, the deafening ticking of the many clocks inside the house fell silent, spreading an ominous atmosphere. Then, as the wind outside the attic window seemed to hold its breath in anticipation, the dusty attic came alive, as magic flowed through the air, and into an old fairytale book lying on the wicker seating of a forgotten chair.
This book, filled with tales of magic and mystery, opened by itself, as if an invisible hand was turning the pages with purpose, when suddenly, the pages stopped at the story of the fair Rapunzel, trapped so high in her tower.
The air around the book, now glowing with golden magic, stirred something deep within the tale of fair Rapunzel, and as it happened, brought her forward into this realm.
The tower she was trapped in, erupted out of the book, tearing the pages and rising high, truly a sight to behold.
Then, noticing the magic force that had transformed her pages, Rapunzel tied her long hair to the hook inside the tower room, and carefully climbed through the window, slowly making her way down the tower, holding on tight to her own hair.
Suddenly the attic window was blown open by the force of the wind, which had now ceased its deafening silence, and swiftly, the rain made place for delicate snowflakes, glistening in the moonlight, announcing the arrival of Rapunzel, a being of pure magic, into our realm.
What happened next is anyone’s guess, but some say that fair Rapunzel made her way deep into the woods, where she found her way to portals only fairies know and use, and made her way back into her own realm, yet now freed from the confines of the witch’s tower, where she now resides in blissful joy with her prince, and they live forever, happily ever after.
